I think this is a great website and the word cloud is amazing. This is something that I will use in the classroom. Thanks so much for such great ideas.

I think that this is a useful resource for students to compare text from not only the debates, but also to find patterns in other public speeches made by Lincoln. There is a growing body of scholarship that has relied heavily on search engines such as this; applying it to Lincoln’s oevure brings us closer to understanding his intellectual development.

My students like to use word clouds because they are very visual. So looking at the top 50 words used in the document gives them a great way get a picture of the piece before reading the it.
