Timelines

Here is an example of a interactive online timeline created by Leah Miller (Dickinson College, Class of 2014) using Timeline JS, a free Internet service. ┬áLeah’s timeline relies on documents in Lincoln’s Writings that invoke the word “slavery.” ┬áSuch a timeline offers a way for students to think about how Lincoln’s views on race and slavery evolved over time. Use the horizontal chronology bar below the text and image to drag and click both forward and backward throughout Lincoln’s career.
