The HUB may stand for the Holland Union Building, but it really is the hub of activity at Dickinson. Need to grab a bite? A place to meet up to grab a coffee or smoothie? A quiet room to get some work done? These are just a few of the reasons why students go to the HUB every single day of the semester.
The cafeteria, popularly known as “the caf,’ is there for your apatite regardless of its size, preferences, or necessities. My morning truthfully doesn’t get started until I scarf down their hash browns. Sampling, choice of portion, and a variety of stations makes it a flexible option for dining. For those on the go, Union Station, “the snar,” offers cooked or premade fresh food throughout the day. The Devil’s Den, our convenience store and the Underground’s smoothies are also quick options.
Clubs and events are also a significant parts of the HUB. I find foreign language tables to be the best way to improve skills on campus outside of the classroom. If you’d like to help represent music and play rising artists over the air waves, WDCV-FM allows students to have a radio show. Next to the station there’s also dance studio.
