Prigg&#8217;s conviction under Pennsylvania&#8217;s 1826 personal liberty law for kidnapping Morgan led to the US Supreme Court&#8217;s decision in <em><a href=\"https:\/\/housedivided.dickinson.edu\/sites\/ugrr\/1842-prigg-v-pennsylvania\/\">Prigg. v.
