Part 1: General Instructions<\/h1>\n

How to choose theme: <\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

1. Go to the sidebar\"\"2. Click \u201cappearance\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"3. Go to subcategory \u201cthemes\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0Scroll through the themes to find a good theme<\/p>\n

5. Click on the theme you are interested in, then click \u201cactivate\u201d<\/p>\n

Note:<\/strong> you can always change your theme later without having to re-upload your content<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

What makes a good theme? <\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. clean looking, not outdated, cluttered, or confusing<\/li>\n
    2. Has to have banner photo (the photo at the top of the document)<\/li>\n
    3. Has to have a sidebar<\/li>\n
    4. Has to be \u201cresponsive\u201d meaning it looks good on computers and phones<\/li>\n
    5. Some good examples include: Twenty-twelve, Lovecraft, Hemingway<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      How to Customize Theme:<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

      1. Go to the \u201ctheme\u201d you chose, click the \u201ccustomize button\u201d in the bottom right corner of your active theme<\/p>\n

      2. Go to the white sidebar on the left-hand side and you can choose what you want to customize<\/p>\n

      \"\"<\/p>\n

      Customizations include: <\/strong><\/p>\n

      Site identity:<\/strong> click this to change your title, tagline, and site icon<\/p>\n

      Options for *theme name*:<\/strong> click this for certain features unique to the\u00a0theme you chose (my theme has the option to add the sidebar for mobile devices)<\/p>\n

      Colors:<\/strong> click this to customize accent colors<\/p>\n

      Header image:<\/strong> here you can upload image by clicking \u201cadd image\u201d button under the \u201ccurrent header\u201d section<\/p>\n

      Menus:<\/strong> do not worry about this section until later, there is an easier way to customize menus<\/p>\n

      Widgets:<\/strong> do not worry about this section until later, there is an easier way to customize widgets<\/p>\n

      Homepage Settings: <\/strong>under \u201cyour homepage displays\u201d click \u201ca static page\u201d and under \u201chomepage\u201d click \u201chome\u201d (you have to create a \u201chome\u201d page before this is an option)<\/p>\n
