\"\"<\/a> Google Maps allows users to make their own maps, such as this collection<\/a> from \u00a0House Divided. This FAQ will review the basic steps to create a map on Google Maps.<\/p>\n

You can always learn more about how to use Google Maps through their user guide<\/a>. \u00a0Or we have created a short video tutorial <\/a>that you might find even more effective for learning how to create custom-made history-oriented maps on your own.<\/p>\n

Creating maps on Google Maps<\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
1. LogIn<\/strong> – If you have a Google account, go to Google Maps<\/a> and login. If not, you will need to create one<\/a> in order to make a map.<\/td>\n\"\"<\/a>
\n<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
2. Create Map<\/strong> -Look for the \u201cMy Maps\u201d link on left side of the page, which is located directly below the Google Maps logo. After clicking on that link, you can create a new map. All of the maps you create will appear here in the left column.<\/td>\n\"\"

3. Privacy Options<\/strong> – If you don\u2019t want your map to be public, select the \u201cunlisted\u201d option for your map.<\/td>\n\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
4. Collaborate<\/strong> After you create a map, click on the \u201cCollaborate\u201d to invite other people with Google Accounts to help work on the map.
