Cumberland County Historical Society
The Cumberland County Historical Society, which was founded in 1874, has a permanent exhibit, gift shop, library, and archives open to the public. The archives contains a variety of photographs, manuscripts, and other artifacts from the Civil War era, including the Confederate shelling and occupation of Carlisle in 1863.
