While not all of the papers have been posted online, the site <a href=\"http:\/\/jeffersondavis.rice.edu\/docs.cfm\" target=\"_blank\">offers a nice selection of material <\/a>from his entire career. One can read \u201ca <a href=\"http:\/\/cohesion.rice.edu\/humanities\/pjdavis\/Docs.cfm?doc_id=13263\" target=\"_blank\">listing of the demerits <\/a>Davis received while\u201d at West Point, a newspaper article that described his <a href=\"http:\/\/jeffersondavis.rice.edu\/resources.cfm?doc_id=1497\" target=\"_blank\">speech in May 1849 <\/a>on the increase in sectional tensions, a <a href=\"http:\/\/jeffersondavis.rice.edu\/resources.cfm?doc_id=1504\" target=\"_blank\">speech in July 1860 <\/a>in support of John Breckinridge\u2019s campaign, a <a href=\"http:\/\/jeffersondavis.rice.edu\/resources.cfm?doc_id=4098\" target=\"_blank\">letter to his wife <\/a>in April 1865, and many other interesting documents. The project plans to add even more material in the future. One should also check out the other resources on the site, including a <a href=\"http:\/\/jeffersondavis.rice.edu\/chron.cfm\" target=\"_blank\">detailed timeline <\/a>of Davis\u2019 life and <a href=\"http:\/\/jeffersondavis.rice.edu\/site.cfm#fam\" target=\"_blank\">pictures of him <\/a>and other family members.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rice University has created a great online supplement for their 12 volume Papers of Jefferson Davis project.
