The exhibit includes not only Lincoln\u2019s visits to New York, such as for\u00a0his Cooper Union address in February 1860, but also explores\u00a0the impact of his administration\u2019s policies during the Civil War. In addition, the material on display highlights the extent of serious political opposition that Lincoln could face even in northern states. \u201cWe see New York\u2019s version of the Civil War being fought using words, ideas, images and, at least during the 1863 Draft Riots, a fair amount of blood, with Lincoln as the battles\u2019 nexus,\u201d as the <em>New York Times<\/em>\u2019 Edward Rothstein <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2009\/10\/09\/arts\/design\/09lincoln.html?em\" target=\"_blank\">explains in his review<\/a>.
