You can find maps of cities like <a href=\"http:\/\/hd.housedivided.dickinson.edu\/index.phpnode\/9122#tabset-4\" target=\"_blank\">Boston<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/hd.housedivided.dickinson.edu\/index.phpnode\/15980&amp;size=_original\" target=\"_blank\">Baltimore<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/hd.housedivided.dickinson.edu\/index.phpnode\/9160#tabset-3\" target=\"_blank\">Buffalo<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/hd.housedivided.dickinson.edu\/index.phpnode\/9235#tabset-4\" target=\"_blank\">Chicago<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/hd.housedivided.dickinson.edu\/index.phpnode\/15985&amp;size=_original\" target=\"_blank\">Cincinnati<\/a>, and many more. Be sure to check out the <a href=\"http:\/\/hd.housedivided.dickinson.edu\/index.phpnode\/15993&amp;size=_original\">Washington D.C.<\/a> map since it provides the location of specific buildings, including the \u201cPresidents House\u201d and \u201cWar Departments.\u201d These street level maps, which were published during the 1850s, can good resources for teachers to use in the classroom. For example, several city maps are in the Google Earth tour of <a href=\"http:\/\/housedivided.dickinson.edu\/fieldtrips\/brown.html\" target=\"_blank\">Henry \u201cBox\u201d Brown\u2019s escape<\/a>. Students can follow the exact route that Brown took to freedom, from Samuel Smith\u2019s house in <a href=\"http:\/\/hd.housedivided.dickinson.edu\/index.phpnode\/9121#tabset-4\" target=\"_blank\">Richmond<\/a>, Virginia to the Vigilance Committee Office in <a href=\"http:\/\/hd.housedivided.dickinson.edu\/index.phpnode\/9118#tabset-4\" target=\"_blank\">Philadelphia<\/a>, Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While House Divided has a large collection of maps, I want to highlight some the interesting city maps that are available.
