The National Park Service provides information geared towards teachers on their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nps.gov\/wicr\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a>, which highlights the field trip-friendly nature of the Wilson\u2019s Creek battlefield. By searching the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ozarkscivilwar.org\/category\/battles\/battle-of-wilsons-creek\" target=\"_blank\">Wilson\u2019s Creek Collections<\/a> researchers can access the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ozarkscivilwar.org\/archives\/1412\" target=\"_blank\">journal of Captain Asbury C. Bradford<\/a> of Company E, 2nd Regiment, 8th Division, Missouri State Guard, which includes Asbury\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/cdm.sos.mo.gov\/cdm4\/document.php?CISOROOT=%2Fmack&amp;CISOPTR=2893&amp;REC=0&amp;CISOBOX=Wilson%27s+Creek\" target=\"_blank\">hand-drawn map<\/a> of the battle at Wilson\u2019s Creek. Another unique resource is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ozarkscivilwar.org\/archives\/1121\" target=\"_blank\">memoir of Louisa Cheairs McKenny Sheppard<\/a>, a 12-year-old resident of Springfield, who documented the effects of the Civil War on her family.
