A key resource for teachers and researchers is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nps.gov\/fodo\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\">National Park Service\u2019s website<\/a> on Fort Donelson.\u00a0 The website includes informational tools for creating <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nps.gov\/fodo\/forteachers\/lessonplans.htm\" target=\"_blank\">lesson plans<\/a> and<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nps.gov\/fodo\/forteachers\/planafieldtrip.htm\" target=\"_blank\"> field trip<\/a>s\u00a0 to Fort Donelson, and also features the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nps.gov\/fodo\/planyourvisit\/fortdonelsonnationalcemetery.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Fort Donelson National Cemetery\u2019s website<\/a> , which includes a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nps.gov\/fodo\/planyourvisit\/upload\/honor.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cRoll of Honor\u201d<\/a> that lists the known Union soldiers that were reinterred in the cemetery. The National Park website also includes a special section that documents the evolution of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nps.gov\/fodo\/forteachers\/africanamericansat-donelson.htm\" target=\"_blank\">the role of African Americans at Fort Donelson<\/a>, which ranged from slave labor to employment by the U.S. Quartermaster, later reinforced by the Second Confiscation Act of July 1862.\u00a0 Grant famously demanded \u201can unconditional and immediate surrender\u201d\u00a0 from the remaining Confederate general, <a href=\"http:\/\/hd.housedivided.dickinson.edu\/node\/5258\" target=\"_blank\">Simon B.
