href=\"http:\/\/www.loc.gov\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Library of Congress<\/a> provides a wealth of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.loc.gov\/teachers\/classroommaterials\/\" target=\"_blank\">resources for teachers<\/a> to use in the classroom. \u00a0Most helpful are the themed<a href=\"http:\/\/www.loc.gov\/teachers\/classroommaterials\/connections\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Collection Connections<\/a>, which seek to give historical context to the Library&#8217;s collections and assist teachers in using them in the classroom. \u00a0One of these Collection Connections is on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.loc.gov\/teachers\/classroommaterials\/connections\/abraham-lincoln-papers\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Abraham Lincoln papers<\/a>. \u00a0In this section, documents by Abraham Lincoln have been selected for each of several categories. \u00a0These resources are invaluable for anyone studying the life and times of Abraham Lincoln. \u00a0One of the categories is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.loc.gov\/teachers\/classroommaterials\/connections\/abraham-lincoln-papers\/history3.html\" target=\"_blank\">Lincoln&#8217;s 1860 presidential campaign<\/a>. \u00a0There are four key documents included to illustrate this period of Lincoln&#8217;s life, including speech notes, campaign posters, and a letter. \u00a0This selection of a few key documents serves to underscore the main themes and events of the campaign, and there are discussion questions included as well for teachers to use in the classroom. \u00a0The page presents the information in a clear way but requires a critical reading of the texts as well. \u00a0To help students further analyze the documents, there is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.loc.gov\/teachers\/classroommaterials\/connections\/abraham-lincoln-papers\/thinking.html\" target=\"_blank\">critical thinking<\/a> page designed to give assistance with
