Students spent the morning discussing the compromises that had to be made after the Civil War. To fuel their discussions, they read <\/span>the Reconstruction Amendments, \u201cNew Colossus\u201d by Emma Lazarus, and \u201cOn Democracy\u201d by E.B. White. Professor Mealy and <\/span>Professor <\/span>Pinsker <\/span>debated <\/span>on <\/span>if there were too many compromises after the Civil War. <\/span>Professor<\/span> Pinsker, o<\/span>n <\/span>the negative side, won.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>After lunch, <\/span>student<\/span> were<\/span> hard at work on preparing for Friday\u2019s debate<\/span> before heading to an admissions session to learn how to nail the college essay and interview.<\/span> Because of <\/span>the big D.C. trip tomorrow, <\/span>students relaxed during the evening<\/span> with a movie. Predictably, students chose to watch <\/span><\/span>Lincoln<\/span><\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
