Even though this regiment was organized in \u201ca comparatively short time,\u201d the reporter believed that the men \u201c[had] evinced a degree of enthusiasm and discipline that would do credit to older troops.\u201d  After a regiment drill \u201cin which every evolution\u2026was characterized by military correctness,\u201d several speakers addressed the crowd.
